Illinois Gaming Board Administrator Marco FruchterUsing expanded powers delegated to it following the Covid-19 pandemic and renewed annually since then, it granted license renewals for four years through June 2028 to Argosy Casino Alton, DraftKings at Casino Queen in East St. Louis, Grand Victoria Casino in Elgin, Hollywood Casino Aurora, Hollywood Casino Joliet, Rivers Casino in Des Plaines and Par-A-Dice Hotel Casino in East Peoria.

Illinois has 15 retail sports betting locations, with DraftKings at Wrigley Field being the most recent location to open in March. The state’s spending plan for next year includes a new progressive tax rate on sports betting. The first $30 million will be taxed at 20 percent; the next $20 million at 25 percent; revenues of $50 million to $100 million at 30 percent; from $100 million to $200 million at 35 percent and all income over $200 million at 40 percent.
