One dead after motorcycle crash in Mercer County

CELINA – A Rockford man died after a crash Saturday in Mercer County.

According to a release from the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office, at 4:17 p.m., deputies were alerted to a single-vehicle crash on Smith Road north of State Route 117 in Dublin Township. Upon arrival, officers discovered that Vincent E. Blossom, 65, of Rockford, had been traveling south on Smith Road on a 2020 Indian motorcycle when he failed to negotiate a curve, causing him to go off the side. east of the road and hit a pole. .

Blossom was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, according to the sheriff’s office. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident remains under investigation.
