Man allegedly armed with scissors terrorizes staff and shoppers at Kawana Shoppingworld before citizen's arrest

A man has been arrested after allegedly shouting and threatening staff while vandalizing store items at a Sunshine Coast shopping centre.

Police were called to Kawana Shoppingworld at around 11.40am on Friday to reports of a disturbance as staff closed the shopping centre.

It is believed that at some point the man hurt himself with a pair of scissors from a home goods store.

Members of the public reportedly detained him before police arrived.

“The man was restrained by members of the public and arrested by police a short time later,” a police spokesperson said.

“No one was physically injured during the incident.”
