Police launch investigation in Seaton, Adelaide, after death of five-year-old girl

Major crime detectives have been called following the death of a five-year-old girl in Adelaide’s west.

Emergency services were called to Ballater Ave in Seaton about 4pm on Wednesday after reports the child was unresponsive.

“The girl was initially treated here at the scene before being taken to hospital where she sadly died,” a police spokesperson said.

The Major Crimes unit will join Western District detectives as they investigate the child’s death.

The street has been closed and police expect them to be at the house “for some time.”

It is understood the girl’s parents are assisting police and no charges have been laid.

The boy’s death will be the subject of a forensic investigation.
