Ohio woman rescued from roof of burning home in north Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – A woman was successfully rescued from the roof of her home after a fire broke out in northeast Columbus Tuesday morning.

According to the Columbus Division of Fire, a woman was taken to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in unknown condition after her home caught fire near the 1500 block of Republic Avenue in North Linden.


A police sergeant at the scene reported that the woman was rescued from the roof of the home, and was hospitalized for smoke inhalation. A second person was also hospitalized from the fire, which saw smoke billowing out of windows on all sides of the home.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the fire, which caused extensive damage to the front half of the home.
