New park dedicated and celebrated in Perry County

ELLIOTTSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – There’s a new park in Perry County.

The Lynn Sheaffer Dum Memorial Park opened its doors on Saturday.

It is located right next to West Perry High School in Elliottsburg.

Dozens of people came out to celebrate the grand opening, which was held in partnership with the Perry County Arts Council.

There were food trucks, live music, games and more, all to help raise money to benefit the park.

“We recently installed three new pickleball courts and a gentleman donated a nine-hole golf course,” said Brenda Pelletier, president of Friends of Spring Township. “We installed some security cameras and bought two pavilions, 10×14 pavilions that we will install next to the pickleball court and one on the hill next to Plaza Bicentenario.”

The event will run until 8 pm Saturday night.
