Ohio man dies in crash in Mercer County

DUBLIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WFFT) – A man died after crashing a motorcycle in Mercer County Saturday afternoon.

The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single-vehicle crash on Smith Road, north of State Route 117, in Dublin Township around 4:17 p.m.

Investigators say the motorcyclist was traveling south on Smith Road when he failed to negotiate a curve and crashed into a pole on the east side of the road.

The Sheriff’s Office identified the driver as Vincent E Blossom, 65, of Rockford, Ohio.

First responders pronounced Blossom dead at the scene.

Investigators say he was not wearing a helmet when he crashed.

Rockford EMS and the Rockford Fire Department assisted the Sheriff’s Office at the scene.

The accident remains under investigation.
