Cunningham, 27, has been in Phoenix his entire career. The 6-foot-1 guard was the No. 13 overall pick in the 2019 WNBA Draft and is now spending her sixth season with the Mercury.

The former Missouri Tiger has shot 35.9% from long range on 3.7 attempts throughout her career. However, this small feat doesn’t mean much to Cunningham. With Phoenix just losing its fourth straight game at Minnesota, the focus is solely on rebounding.

“It’s great, but for me it’s all about winning,” Cunningham said. “We’ve had a rough stretch of this road trip, so it’s a little hard to celebrate those little milestones. I’m really glad I have teammates who find me, but at the end of the day, if we don’t win, it doesn’t really matter.”

Cunningham was on Phoenix’s 2021 Finals team and, a year later, finished third in Most Improved Player voting.

Although Cunningham is averaging his fewest points (9.6) since the 2022 season, he has expanded his versatility to meet the team’s needs. He has become a Swiss Army knife who can play any position on the court and defend bigger wings, while always bringing infectious energy as a swing starter.
