Crime in Houston, Texas: Man injured in drive-by shooting, police say

According to the Houston Police Department, the victim was eating pizza in a parking lot when the shooting occurred.

HOUSTON – Police are investigating after a man was injured in a drive-by shooting in north Houston early Sunday morning.

This happened on Vickery Drive, just south of the Sam Houston Tollway, around 1:30 am.

According to the Houston Police Department, the victim was eating pizza in a parking lot when a white sedan drove by slowly. The occupants of the sedan opened fire, hitting the man at least once in the torso. Police said about 30 shots were fired.

The victim ran to his nearby apartment where he called for help. HPD said he was taken to an area hospital where he is expected to recover.

There is no information on the suspects or what caused the shooting.
