United Airlines passengers sick upon arrival in Houston

HOUSTON – United Airlines says one of its planes is receiving a deep cleaning before being returned to service.

That was after United Flight 1528 arrived in Houston with more than two dozen sick passengers on board. That flight arrived from Vancouver, Canada, on Friday night. The sick passengers had all reportedly been on the same cruise ship and arrived here feeling nauseous.

Three passengers were evacuated from the plane by the Houston Fire Department, but none of the 25 sick passengers went to the emergency room for treatment.

United Airlines sent KHOU 11 a statement about the event. It reads:

“Several passengers who had been on the same cruise ship and were not feeling well were on United Flight 1528 from Vancouver to Houston tonight (Friday night). United Airlines is actively coordinating with health authorities to address the situation. As precautionary measure, the aircraft “Will be removed from service and will undergo a deep cleaning before returning to service. “Ensuring the health and safety of our passengers and crew remains our top priority.”
