A 36-year-old Massachusetts man died walking into traffic on Maine Turnpike in Kittery

A 36-year-old Massachusetts man died after walking into traffic and being hit by a tractor-trailer on the Maine Turnpike in Kittery, Maine, early Saturday, according to police.

Chhoeunly Phoeung, the Massachusetts man, was driving a Mazda CX-5 southbound on the Maine Turnpike around 3:10 a.m. Saturday when he left the road and struck several objects at the entrance to the station. Maine State Police weigh-in in Kittery, state police said. in a sentence.

After Phoeung crashed his car, he cut into traffic on the toll road and was hit by a tractor-trailer, the statement details.

He was taken by ambulance to Portsmouth Regional Hospital in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, where he was pronounced dead, according to the release.

State police continue to investigate the incident.
