A Virgin Atlantic flight sparked a major emergency response when it was forced to make an emergency landing in Edinburgh.

The Airbus A350-1000 was due to land in the capital at 11:00 a.m. from Orlando. Upon leaving the Florida city, he reported that the nose gear had burst and told officials in Edinburgh that he would need help landing.

When he arrived, several ambulances and fire trucks were seen waiting on the tarmac. The cause of the problem is believed to have been a punctured front landing tire. The flight crew was concerned that the impact of landing could crush the wheel to the metal.

On Flightradar, an air travel tracking website, the plane became the most followed plane, as more than 3,000 people around the world watched the landing.

The plane has already landed, at 11:20 am. He was immediately surrounded by emergency vehicles.

The incident has caused disruptions to other flights leaving the Scottish capital, with multiple take-offs delayed between 10 and 11am.

Several flights arriving into the city have been forced to stop. They’ve been circling the airport until the runway is clear.
