Convicted rapist who was on the run for 17 years will be extradited to Massachusetts

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – A convicted rapist from Massachusetts who has been on the run for nearly seventeen years is now in custody and awaiting extradition.

The U.S. Marshals Service confirmed that Tuen Kit Lee was arrested Tuesday in Danville, California.

Lee fled Massachusetts during his trial in 2007, but was still convicted of rape and kidnapping.

Earlier this year, Massachusetts State Police saw images on social media that appeared to be of Lee.

Police were able to connect those images to the owner of a flower shop in Diablo, California.

Lee has been booked and is being held pending extradition to Massachusetts.
