2016 North Carolina Candidate Campaign: Visit to the Vault

On March 8, 2016, President Bill Clinton visited Elon Law School in Greensboro to campaign for his wife Hillary.

GREENSBORO, N.C. – This year, WFMY News 2 turns 75! So to celebrate our diamond year, we’re opening the WFMY News 2 vault.

March 8, 2016 was further proof of North Carolina’s battleground role in election years.

President Bill Clinton visited Elon Law School in Greensboro to campaign for his wife Hillary Clinton.

The same day, then-Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump visited Concord, where he focused on jobs.

The next day, Senator Ted Cruz spoke in Raleigh. Two months later, he dropped out of the race.

Trump campaigned in Fayetteville that Wednesday and Hillary Clinton spoke in Durham that same week.
