Rains on the rise this week

Jacksonville, Florida – Scattered storms inland will be slow moving and some could head toward the coast and last through midnight. Skies will be partly cloudy and sticky with temperatures in the mid-70s and lows of 75°F.

Dry weather is not expected in the future. Monday and Tuesday will see a lot of rain and slow-moving thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.

North Florida will be one of the wettest spots in the state, with more than an inch of rain concentrated between I-95 and the river.

Rainfall will total 2 to 3 inches to start the week with storms also affecting beaches that have been drier lately.

A stalled surface front will remain in Georgia through midweek, which will keep moisture flowing without any major interruptions in the rainfall pattern through the weekend. Highs will remain in the mid-90s early this week and in the 90s after Thursday.
