SACRAMENTO — Boogie Ellis scored a game-high 17 points to lead the Sacramento Kings to an 85-61 victory over the San Antonio Spurs in the California Classic Summer League on Sunday at Golden 1 Center.

The game started competitively, as Kings 1 held a 23-19 lead after the first quarter. They gained momentum in the second and led by as many as 14 points before settling into a 10-point halftime lead. The Spurs had no answers in the third, as the deficit widened to 13 points heading into the fourth quarter. Kings 1 turned up the heat again in the fourth and cruised to the end, sealing the 24-point victory.

Ellis paced the Kings by hitting 6 of 10 shots, including 3 of 6 3-pointers in 21 minutes off the bench. Keon Ellis and Jo Lual-Acuil Jr. also scored 13 points apiece, while Mason Jones added 11 points, six rebounds, five assists, one steal and one block.

Harrison Ingram and Tyson Ward each scored 11 points to lead the way for the Spurs. Jamaree Bouyea followed with 10 points, six rebounds and four assists, while Nathan Mensah chipped in five points, seven rebounds and three blocks.

Both teams will be back in action on Tuesday, when the Spurs take on Team China, while the No. 1 Kings take on the Hornets.
