Longhorns Daily News: Texas’ Chris Del Conte: ‘It just means more’ to SEC fans

Last week, there was much pomp and celebration as part of the long-awaited move of the Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners to the Southeastern Conference. Texas athletic director Chris Del Conte’s comments about the new Texas league follow that same line.

“It’s fitting for the (SEC) motto, ‘It Just Means,’ and when you think about it, it means more to the people of the Southeastern Conference and the schools they represent, because our fans are super excited about this opportunity. But what I’m looking forward to the most is the competition,” Del Conte said, according to Lone Star Live. “You think about how deep the SEC is in all sports, you had two SEC teams playing in the College World Series, two future teams playing in the World Series in softball, two SEC teams won athletics. It’s an incredible conference, deep across the board.”
