Jehovah’s Witnesses host 3-day convention in Jacksonville

One of the world’s largest religious convention organizers will once again draw thousands of people to Jacksonville. In a world where bad news flows endlessly on social media, television and radio, a three-day live event open to the public will offer only good news.

One of the world’s largest convention organizations returns to the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville with a highly anticipated motivational program to comfort and encourage audiences.

Jehovah’s Witnesses will host their 2024 “Declare the Good News!” convention series beginning the weekend of July 5-7. The free event is expected to draw thousands of attendees from Tallahassee and surrounding areas.

“These conventions are a highlight of the year for thousands of people who need to experience some positivity in their lives,” said Chris Poppell, a local spokesman for Jehovah’s Witnesses.

The “Declare the Good News!” convention will feature Bible-based videos, talks, and interviews on topics such as: Why do we need good news?, Use good news to overcome bad news, and Believe the truth about Jesus.

A baptism of candidates from surrounding communities will be featured on Saturday, while a two-part video will be presented on Friday and Saturday mornings. Prior to each convention, local congregations will participate in a campaign to invite community members to this free event.

Last year, nearly 13 million people attended more than 6,000 three-day conventions around the world. For more information, visit jw.org.
