CHICAGO (WLS) — An 18-year-old man was slashed in the face and assaulted on the CTA Orange Line early Saturday morning.

According to Chicago police, a person armed with a knife approached the teenager at 35th and Archer and demanded his personal belongings.

The victim refused to comply and the suspect slashed his forehead and then fled.

The victim suffered a minor laceration and was treated at the scene by the Chicago Fire Department.

The suspect was arrested not far from the scene, police said. The attacker was still in possession of the victim’s belongings, police said.

There is no information on the charges.
