RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A man is in custody after a large police presence in a Raleigh neighborhood on July 4, according to the Raleigh Police Department.

At approximately 4:13 p.m. Thursday, officers said they were called to the 4200 block of Live Oak Road in reference to a reported person with a gun.

When officers arrived, they said they were told there was a man with a gun barricaded inside a home and that the complaint was due to a domestic incident.

Police deployed several officers and resources and established a perimeter to ensure the safety of nearby homes, according to the police department.

Police said they gave the man orders to leave the house and he complied.

“Come out with your hands up,” they were heard saying at the scene.

Officers said the man was arrested around 5:30 p.m.

No injuries were reported and there were no evacuations to surrounding residences when the man was taken into custody, according to the police department.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.
