Report says New York will miss climate deadline

New York’s climate law requires the Public Service Commission (PSC) to issue a progress report on the state’s progress toward clean energy.

By law, the state must meet a goal of 70 percent renewable energy by 2030. While the report indicates New York will fall short of that goal, and the Hochul administration is considering moving the deadline to 2033, there is some optimism in New York.

Marguerite Wells, the new executive director of the New York Clean Energy Alliance, discussed the situation with Capital tonight presenter Susan Arbetter.
