One person was seriously injured and is in critical condition after a stabbing in downtown Boulder Wednesday morning.

At 8:59 a.m., officers were called to the area of ​​Broadway and Arapahoe after individuals saw a man using a knife and pipe to attack another man under the bridge.

Within five minutes, police spotted the suspect riding a bicycle nearby, chased him down and brought him to a safe stop just off Boulder Creek Road on 17th Street.

According to the statement, he was unharmed.

The suspect has been identified as Joshua Allen Gregor, 38.

Gregor faces two counts of first-degree assault.

Detectives do not believe the men knew each other.
