The road is cordoned off and emergency services are mobilised amid reports of a ‘cyclist hit by a car’

A road cordon was put in place tonight amid reports of a cyclist being hit by a car on a busy main road in Bolton on Wednesday (July 3).

Emergency services swarmed St Helens Road near Daubhill on Wednesday afternoon following reports of the collision. An air ambulance was also called to the scene as the main road was cordoned off.




There are unconfirmed reports that a cyclist was hit by a vehicle. Police and paramedics attended the incident and blocked the road in both directions while investigations are carried out.

The road was cordoned off between the A6145 Hulton Lane and Moorlands View as emergency crews worked at the scene. The cordon remained in place for several hours into the evening as the crash investigation took place.

Images from the scene show a heavy police presence, with several officers guarding both ends of the cordon. A car’s windscreen was smashed and a broken bicycle was also seen lying on the ground next to the road.

Further details regarding the nature of the incident and the health status of those involved have not yet been confirmed. Greater Manchester Police have been contacted for further information.
