Michigan State hockey star defenseman will not return in 2024-25, report says

The Michigan State hockey team scored a big win in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft when star defenseman Artyom Levshunov was selected second overall by the Chicago Blackhawks. The high selection proved that the Spartans’ development program is in top form right now under the direction of Adam Nightingale.

Now under Blackhawks control, according to a report from Ben Pope citing the Hawks’ assistant general manager, it appears Chicago wants Levshunov to play in the AHL next season, rather than return to East Lansing.
