On June 30, Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a residence on Minor Run Road in Edward regarding an ongoing domestic dispute.

When officers arrived on scene, they discovered a fire inside an unoccupied single-wide mobile home on the property and immediately requested the fire department to respond.

While they were trying to put out the fire, an aggressive dog approached the officers in a threatening manner and was subsequently given an electric shock. The owner was able to get the dog to safety without further incident.

Officers and firefighters were able to extinguish the fire. The investigation is ongoing.
