The hot steamy pattern brings afternoon storms

JACKSONVILLE, FL – The hot steamy pattern today brings storms after 1 pm to areas mainly from the St. Johns River and points westward into the evening. The beaches will have little to no rain other than coastal Georgia showers in the morning.

Slow steering pattern drops a half to one inch of rain this afternoon. The pattern continues Wednesday with scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms and highs in the low 90s.

Independence Day: Lower to mid 90s with light easterly winds steering storms inland away from the coast in the afternoon. It starts heating up into the mid 90s by the end of the week and weekend. Storms will fade by fireworks celebrations except for areas around Starke to Gainesville and Lake City.

Tropics: Hurricane Beryl is a Category 5 moving to Jamaica tomorrow and the Yucatan Friday. It will not impact Florida.
