Suspected drunk driver arrested for speeding over 105 mph on Houston tollway | Texas

Houston Texas – A suspected drunken driver was arrested after being caught driving more than 105 mph on the S. Sam Houston E. Tollway, authorities said.

On June 30, 2024, Toll Road Agents from Officer Jerry Garcia’s office observed a vehicle traveling 105 mph in a 65 mph zone, according to a news release from the department. Agents conducted a traffic stop in the 9200 block of S. Sam Houston Tollway E.

During the stop, the driver showed multiple signs of intoxication, prompting officers to conduct a DUI investigation. Standardized field sobriety tests confirmed the driver was intoxicated, according to police.

The driver, identified as Roderick D. Hunter, 59, was arrested and sent to the Harris County Joint Prosecution Center for driving while intoxicated.
