The reported tornado caused damage to areas surrounding Roscoe, Delaware County.

The Eastern Dutchess County Fire Department said in a Facebook post shortly after noon Sunday that first responders were dispatched to a mass casualty event at Russell Brook Campground for reports of several people trapped in cabins and at least one person dead. .

“Tornado landing,” part of the post read.
