Streator Library to host beach-themed scavenger hunts, story time and crafts – Shaw Local

The Streator Public Library will host a beach-themed scavenger hunt the week of July 1.

Search the library and find all the hidden items. The theme changes weekly.

4 to 5 pm Monday, July 1: Arts and Crafts with Maddy, kids ages 5 and under. Create cute and fun projects to take home.

1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 2: Little’s Art Time, children ages 4 and up. Get creative with friends at the library. Resident artist Nate will inspire the imagination.

From 4 to 5 pm on Tuesday, July 2: Farming in the Classroom, ages 5 and under. Stories and crafts based on the children’s book “If You Want to Knit Some Mittens” by Laura Purdie Salas.

5 to 5:30 pm Tuesday, July 2: Story time, beat them. Children 5 years or older and younger. Take a story-filled vacation with fun tropical stories, music and more.

10:30 to 11:30 am Wednesday, July 3Lego: the great construction for children aged 5 and up. Come to the Lego club and help the library build their giant Lego island.

2 to 3 pm Wednesday, July 3: Indoor volleyball, children under five. Play beach volleyball in the library with the staff.

4 to 5 pm Wednesday, July 3: Creative writing Wednesdays, teens/adults. Do you love writing stories? Join the library to create fun short stories.

3:30 to 4:30 pm Friday, July 5:Beach pins for teens. Start the summer by making seashell pins. Pin them to your shirt, bag, and shoes.

5 to 6 pm Friday, July 5: Laser Tag for kids. Registration required at https://www.streatorpubliclibrary.org/

Saturday July 6th: Ariel Craft, all day. Stop by the library and make a cute Ariel paper doll.

6 to 7 pm Saturday, July 6: Weber Garden Storytime, public. Join the Weber House Garden Library for a themed story at 1503 Baker St.
