Biden needs to focus on infrastructure, Trump during Atlanta debate, supporters say

We’re just over two days away from the presidential debate here in Atlanta and we’re hearing what each candidate will try to say to Georgia.

There are two sayings that are really relevant right now: “Atlanta influences everything” and “Georgia is the center of the political universe.”

Both candidates tried to get their message across during Thursday night’s debate, and remember, they both want that message to resonate here in Georgia because Georgia is a battleground.

Channel 2’s Richard Elliot He spoke personally with the Democratic U.S. senator from Georgia. jon ossoff moments after giving a press conference in downtown Atlanta.

“I think the president is in a strong position,” Ossoff told Elliot.

He also organized a rally for Biden’s campaign.

Just two days before the debate, Ossoff said he thinks Biden needs to remind Georgia voters what he has done for them, especially in terms of infrastructure.

“Georgia is benefiting from the bipartisan infrastructure bill. When you look at the investments being made in advanced energy, electric vehicle production and semiconductor manufacturing through manufacturing incentives, Georgia is doing better than any state in the country,” Ossoff said.

A new poll shows Biden slightly trailing Trump in Georgia, 43% to 38%.

The same polls show Robert Kennedy, who is not yet officially on the ballot but is expected to be, at 9% and 8% undecided.

But with a margin of error of 3.1%, Georgia is still in play.

Caroline Sunshine is the deputy communications director for the Trump campaign.

“You have a great track record and you’re eager to get on the debate stage,” Sunshine told Elliot.

She said Triumph He plans to focus on his record as president and draw comparisons to Biden.

“But no matter what they tell you, you can’t question President Trump’s record, you know, and you’ll see that on the debate stage. Under Joe Biden, we have the worst border crisis in American history. That’s a fact,” Sunshine said.

The debate is Thursday night and you can watch it LIVE on WSB-TV at 9 p.m.
