Masked, armed man robs Dollar General in southwest Michigan

Masked, armed man robs Dollar General in southwest Michigan

BERRIEN COUNTY, MI – A man wearing a ski mask and carrying a gun robbed a Dollar General and remains at large, the Berrien Springs-Oronoko Township Police Department said.

At 8:55 a.m. on Tuesday, June 25, officers were called to Dollar General at 9179 M-139 near George Street in Oronoko Township for a report of an armed robbery.

Witnesses told police that an unknown man dressed in black clothing and a black ski mask threatened store employees with a gun and demanded money, the department said in a news release.

The suspect fled the scene with an undetermined amount of cash. He is described as being between 5 feet 8 and 6 feet tall, with a thin build and wearing black clothing.

A police dog followed the suspect for several hundred meters before losing him.

There were no injuries to Dollar General staff, police said.
