Phillips joins Eastern North Carolina Alliance

EDENTON – NC East Alliance announces the addition of Murfreesboro native Donna Phillips, who will serve as vice president of recruiting and industry engagement.

Phillips will lead efforts to better engage new and existing industries in the NC East Alliance’s education, workforce and economic development initiatives. This will include serving as a critical industry connection for the STEM East Initiative, which aims to unite public school districts, community colleges and industry to grow Eastern North Carolina’s future workforce.

Phillips has extensive experience in economic development at the local, regional and state levels. Most recently, Phillips was Senior Manager of Economic Development at Duke Energy, where she managed Duke’s Site Preparation Program within a 22-county region, as well as working with new and expanding industries in the region. Prior to Duke Energy, Donna worked for the North Carolina Economic Development Partnership, North Carolina Department of Commerce, Duplin County Economic Development, Wayne County Chamber of Commerce and County Economic Development. Phillips graduated from Chowan University with an associate degree in business administration. She is also a two-time graduate of East Carolina University, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Marketing and a Master of Business Administration.

NC East Alliance is a regional economic development organization representing 29 counties in eastern North Carolina. NC East leads efforts to grow eastern North Carolina through a collaboration of education, workforce development, economic development and marketing initiatives. NC East has more than 30 years of economic development experience and has led regional STEM East efforts since 2011.
